It was surprisingly roomy for a little cottage. The extra sleep cabin was a bonus for my older teenagers. Good kitchen setup for making meals. Nice little area to walk around.
We had an absolutely incredible stay in Port Renfrew. It was so nice to unplug and get away from it all. The Botanical Beach is like nothing I have ever seen before in my many years living and exploring the West Coast.. My daughter had such a great time exploring all the tidal pools and learning about all the different creatures that inhabit them.
Enjoyed three nights during a weekend music festival at this great little hideaway. Perfect little spot for having family meals, lounging, sitting by the campfire, and waking up in the forest. Clean, quiet, affordable.
- There is no cell service in Port Renfrew.
- All cottage are provided with WIFI :)
Coffee makers - there is a 10 cup filter coffee maker (with filters) as well as a 6 cup French press. There may be coffee available, but don’t count on it!
Brita water jug - there is a water jug with filter in the refrigerator which will help make the water taste better if needed.
There are a limited number of “supplies” in the cupboard: sugar, salt and pepper, and sometimes tea or coffee
TV and DVD player - there is a remote for the TV and for the DVD player. There is a selection of DVDs in the bookshelves in the living room.
CD- Media player - There is a CD and Media Player in the cottage. It has CD and radio as well as a headphone jack input and Bluetooth capability. To connect to Bluetooth, use the remote, choose “BT” and then search for NS-SH513 in your phone or media player’s Bluetooth settings. To connect to a different device you have to turn off Bluetooth on the first device. The CD player also plays MP3 Cds.
Propane BBQ - outside - if the electronic ignition does not work, there is a lighter in the drawer in the kitchen where the BBQ tools can also be found. Bring your own seasonings! :) There is a spare tank in the patio box at the back of the cottage.
Crab trap - there is a crab trap with float and line in the patio box on the deck. You will need to provide your own bait! (raw chicken or fish scraps recommended) You will need a fishing license to catch crabs.
Fire pit - there is a fire pit out in front of the cottage that you are welcome to use. The wood in the shed at the back should be dry. You will want to bring your own kindling and firestarter.
