Pacheedaht Beach is located on the First Nation reserve in Port Renfrew, near the beginning of the popular West Coast Trail. A 77km hike from Port Renfrew to Bamfeild.
This spectacular 2 km of sandy beach with its mass of driftwood (and logs) is a delight for dogs. It’s location along the long sandy beach of Port Renfrew’s bay, is incredible to say the least! Oceanfront views, wildlife viewing, and fishing are just some of the things you can enjoy.
The Pacheedaht First Nation have an exceptionally nice campground located near the start of the West Coast Trail. situated on a 2 km beach which stretches from Harris Cove to the San Juan River. The rates are good, lots of spaces near the ocean available, close to the ferry, next to the West Coast Trail Information Centre and there is an area with Native crafts and espresso bar.
Surfing:
Pacheedaht Beach is also a great surfing location in the winter months.
Directions:
To get to the campground from Victoria, take West Coast HWY #14 and turn right onto Deering Road immediately upon reaching Port Renfrew. Cross the single lane bridge over the San Juan River and once on the other side, there is camp parking on both the left and right hand side of the road. A person will come by each day to collect camping fees.
