The JDF Way Station is a private cabin located in the Wild Coast Cottages development that sleeps 4 comfortably in the main cabin, with additional sleeping for 2 on the sofa bed and bunkhouse. An open living space with exposed beams, equipped kitchen, full bath, WIFI, gas BBQ, wood-burning fire pit, and cozy wraparound deck, bring all the comforts of home with a touch of rustic escape. Walking distance to restaurants, cafes, marinas, and remote beaches, let this be a haven for your escape.
The space
We work hard to provide everything you need to have a comfortable stay. The main cabin is cozy, at around 400 square feet, but has all the essentials for a memorable stay. The kitchen is equipped with everything you should need, and there’s lots of fridge space for anything you bring. All bedding, linens, and towels are provided for our guests. WIFI is included, but it’s on the slower side and gives you the perfect excuse to get out of a videoconference. The wooden wrap-around deck is unique in this development as it provides ample sitting space that’s not visible from any other unit, allowing you to relax and enjoy yourselves. A propane deck BBQ is provided for your use, as is a propane fire pit, and a wood-burning fire pit (complimentary wood bundle included).
We love the natural feel of our cabin and hope you’ll enjoy the exposed wooden beams, local photography and art, and calming views out the windows.
Our cabin has a short trail to some communal green space if you feel like laying on the grass, but is also a short walk to the local marina and adjacent white sand beach. Also within walking distance are two cafes and two different seaside restaurants serving local fare. We also provide some of the closest accommodation to the northern tip of the Juan de Fuca Trail and the breathtaking hiking and exploring to be had there.
We want our cabin to be whatever you need to find haven on the wild west coast

You can expect a good variety of dry goods, coffee, spice, along with bread, milk, eggs, bacon and other sealed pre packed meats and liquor, wine and beer. You may also visit the grocery stores in Sooke or Lake Cowichan, depending from which way you will be travelling.
